The set I picked was honey maple. It included a headboard, footboard, dresser/mirror, night table, and a chest.

It's a LOT of money. As a mother of 5, including 4 who are 12-20 I can guarantee you're spending money on something that won't be respected. I have beds that have been written on, nail polished, smeared with nail polish remover--which is also an amazing finish remover on furniture, spilt upon, etc. If your daughter were 10 years older and getting her first home I'd be all for it. But this is a kid. Kids have accidents. Accidents ruin furniture.

Go to a decent furniture store and get her a nice $999 set with a good pillowtop mattress. Put the other $1100 in the bank and save it for her college expenses. They'll be here soon enough. Get the nice furniture when she's old enough to appreciate it and when the style will be something she'll enjoy for many years...anything you buy now will be dated by the time she's out of college.

I honestly would not invest that much money into a bedroom set that could be ruined. What i would do is ask her if she wants to decorate her room to what she wants and one that will stick with her as she grows older. If she agrees, go to some flea markets or garage sales and buy good, used furniture and refinish or paint them your self. It would save a whole bunch of money and would be a good project for the two of you to do together as mother and daughter and that way she's getting what she wants and can use her imagination. She knows her style of stuff better than any one so let her be creative. With the money that is not used, go pick out some new fabric, paint, and decorations at wal mart and enjoy putting together a new room that was thought up of by the two of you. You'll still have money left over and she will get what she wants. Put the extra money in a savings account for her and use it to buy her nice furniture when she gets her first place.
Good luck.

i became in this precise venture as quickly as (i became the daughter) and became 4 years from going to college. the way we made the determination became this (ours became extra like $2,000) - If this is something i might relatively take to my first condominium/homestead after college, then we would get it. And it became. even even though it form of looks such as you are the only desiring it, choosing it out, and then she is merely approving it. it is advantageous, yet be certain you recognize that she loves it. on the subject count of money, I do think of that's merely too plenty. I knew PBT became slightly bigger than different much less-well-liked furnishings supplies, yet this looks especially expensive. you could might desire to function money for a mattress except she at present has an entire. Assuming the widely used is physically powerful, and that i might ask your pal's daughter approximately how long it has lasted, how good that's, and so on., then the cost isn't thoroughly unreasonable. It looks like the two,835 is a extra useful compromise subsequently: you're paying for and advertising out the small bookshelf and finished physique replicate for 6 hundred. think of roughly that. it is six hundred for a small bookshelf and an entire physique replicate. That area is outrageous. you ought to decrease down a tree, hire a timber studio, purchase paint, and pay for all a while for $six hundred in case you made the bookshelf. i might propose, if she does want a bookshelf of a few form, merely looking a white one with a matching form. maximum decorators might permit you recognize that once an entire room is one matching set, it could lose style. attempt mixing issues up with a distinctive replicate and bookshelf. Oh yeah, and if she does not like it in her destiny mattress room, you could consistently save it for a focused visitor mattress room, if it is considerable to you. reliable success.

Yes, I think it's a decent price.
But for an eleven year old... I'm not so sure.
Kids change their mind a lot. In a few months she may decide she wants a white bedroom set or something?
It depends if you let your daughter change her room?
But if you're planning on keeping the set for a long time then yeah its reasonable.

I suppose that 2100 bucks for any type of room of furniture is,
somewhat, reasonable, but, I would caution against spending an exorbitant amount of money on an 11 year old's furniture.
I promise that I am well into my 50's, but I can still remember when I was a teenager and my mood changed daily.

Well, it depends on how long your daughter will be using the bedroom set. I used to have one that was around $1,600, but I used it for 7 years. It seems reasonable enough though, since you asked.

I think at her age, it's a very good investment. Not to be sarcastic, I say investment, because at that price, it should be clear that it will be the last bedroom set she will have until she can buy her own. Just tell her to be sure she likes it. She may need it when she moves out. Seriously!

$1800 sounds like a better price and you can get more pieces of furniture.
