My kids are allowed to be with groups of girls and boys for a few hours starting when they are 16 - but only if they're going bowling, to a movie, ice skating, etc. They can't be at someone else's house.
They are allowed to start dating at 17 years old if they maintain a 3.5 GPA and are respectful at home.

You are to young to have a b/f. Are you ready for what is entailed with having a b/f? It's more than just holding hands, and playing house. This is a serious step. Some girls your age can't even shave their legs, or wear makeup, let alone date. These girls have good parents too. Why not follow in these girls footsteps, instead of those others who are not waiting to date.
Kids may think that their parents are old fashion. And don't know anything about the times. The only thing that has really changed from our day, is that many more girls are getting pregnant at an earlier age. It's like nothing to some people. Even at 12 yrs old. Is this what you are looking to happen to you? Really think about what mom, and dad say to you concerning this. After all your Parents, they love, care, protect, and want the best for you, more than anyone else does, they also provide for you. They know you better than you know your self sometimes. Listen to them please! It will benefit you in the long run. Don't regret your youth when you are an adult.

12 is a little young. I would say 15 or so, but it would depend on the child's maturity level. It's one thing to hang out with a group of guys and girls, it's another to have a one-on-one date.
Try not to compare your parents with other kids' parents, if their 12 year olds are dating either they don't know, or they're not as responsible as your parents. Your parents want what's best for you. You have your whole life ahead of you.

I let my kids have a "boy/girl friend" when they were 10 or 12.But that just meant they had a friend at school they liked and they could talk to that person and play on the playground together. Nothing else. Later, my children could go in groups to events like movies, dances, and parties with supervision (age 13 or so). I permitted them to call on the telephone and chat, but no dates. Dating began at 15 or 16 in groups of 4 or more. "Alone" dates didn't start until 16 or 17. If you don't let your children "ease into" relationships, they don't learn how to move out of them when needed. My kids went to college and married in their late 20s.

18, I know you think having a boyfriend a big deal right now, but girl school is. Wait until your getting out of College for a boyfriend. Guys just was to screw around in high school. You don't want to be just a number or talked about in the boys locker room, right?

I think between the ages of 15 and 16 is good,it gives yourself and your parents time to talk to you about having a relationship with a boy and even after that still your parents can educate you as well,My nieces aren't allowed to date until they are 25 by that time they will be almost old maids.
