I seriously do not like my Karate Classes anymore.
I've been in it for roughly a year.
Its boring to me and I find no fun in it.
Would it be wrong for me to quit, since a lot of people in this quit (about 50%), and if so how should I quit?

PS I really want to try different sports, not really interested in Martial Arts anymore, because I also used to do Judo.

I can't say I'm moving away, the teacher works at the same school as my mom during the day.

Ok I thought about it, I've talked to the instructor, I think that I will stay for now, I'll change my attitude towards it and work hard.

You may just need a change, I think most of us at one time or another has done the same. Check out Kenpo on youtube.com enter a few names like, Jeff Speakman, Frank Soto, Larry Tatum and Ed Parker.

I have a black belt in Kenpo and have been learning and teaching for just over 10 years now.

First, if it's really a matter of class content then try talking about it with your instructor. Are even the advanced students doing the same thing? What is their reason for doing the same thing every day?

Otherwise saying simply: 'I would like to stop for now.'
Thank the instructor for their time and tuition and let them know that it's not a personal thing. Don't harp on about it. Do it, say it, get it over and done with.
This is quite within your right.

Martial arts isn't for everyone. Everyone could benefit from it but if your heart isn't in it you won't learn as much. You could try other martial arts. Getting involved in sports is also good, that will keep you fit too.
Not being able to hide from you instructor if you quit would make me feel nervous or bad. But if he is a good instructor he should be understanding.
As far as quitting, that's your call!
Good Luck!

WOW! I am having a difficult time trying to think of an answer.

Well, how about this: Why don't you change your attitude? Try putting forth some effort to LEARNING what you are being taught, then maybe you can move on to new things.

You're not there to be entertained and have fun!

You are young. Taqke a break from it, and do some school sports, enjoy your freinds. Maybe in a year or so you will feel differently. Definately talk to yourt parents about it and tell them how you feel about it. Thats allowed you know they are your parents.

That is a decision you need to make after discussing it with your parents. MA is not boring if you have the right attitude about it. I have a sign in my Dojang that says "A black belt is a white belt who didn't quit". It's up to you whether or not to be a quitter.

I don't think you should quit, but I think you should find a martial art that interests you more such as Jujitsu, or Muay Thai.

Something that will get your attension.

www.wikipedia.org and type in Martial Arts.

Theres a list. See which interests you and try them out.

Thanks for your time.
