Hypertensive patient:
A 26 year old, male patient of mine and my partner in clinic, Sarah O, has an unexplainably high blood pressure. On the first appointment his blood pressure was 160/100, after a quick examination of the blood pressure instrument we concluded, BP instrument was fine ! He could not think of a valid reason for his blood pressure to be that high. Although his relatively fit physic, thanks to a membership at the local YMCA, would have u guessing great health status for him. His blood pressure numbers just don’t seem to fit in with his excessively healthy diet, and daily work out routine. .
We can definitely rule out some of the common causative agents such as smoking and, drinking for him, from information we’ve gotten from health history review process with the patient. To broaden my horizon of education on this subject of high blood pressure, I was delighted to find a piece of research which stated, some people develop high blood

pressure if they have problems with their kidneys or adrenal glands. These glands produce hormones that are important in controlling blood pressure. On the following appointment with this patient I be glad to pass this information on to him.
Although the crucial importance of dropping by to visit doctor has been
reiterated over and over by the dentist at the clinic, he does not seem to be
taking the matter very seriously, thinking he is young and invincible. But I will be
surprised if he is not scolded, similarly as the last visit, by the dentist about this
delicate subject of his heart.
