I'm a 19 year old female that hasn't had an eye appointment in almost 3 years. Since I got my glasses, optomitrists have come out with contacts that people with astigmatism can wear. I have a minor case of astigmatism.

My questions are: How much do these types of lenses cost and how well did they work for you?

I am older, but had contacts after I found out they made them for us odd people, ha ha. It took awhile to get used to putting them in, they're weighted. Took awhile to get used to wearing them and not glasses! I wore them for awhile but to tell you the truth, it was way to much bother for me to have to keep cleaning as much as I did. My eyes must be sensitive or something but they worked well otherwise. I ould say try the disposables and see if you like em.

I have a severe astigmatism in both eyes, and I've worn contacts for years. Torex (spelling?) lenses are one brand that are specifically designed for people with an astigmatism. The lenses are weighted on one end, and when you insert them in your eyes ... they turn so the weighted side is down and the correction for the astigmatism is in the right place. I love my Torex lenses!

I have a slight astigmatism and am still able to wear soft lenses (although they don't correct for the astigmatism, but I can see fine). Go to your eye doctor and discuss the options with him.

I have astigmatism and had the soft contacts and had no problem at all. They have a very fine line on the bottom of the lense and you line it straight up and down and you got it.

Gas permeable hard lenses can help with that. Around a hundred bucks.
