We will be homeschooling our son and our daughter was educated privately until high school. I don't believe our current school system is set up to educate our boys. They always get the short end of the stick in a typical classroom setting. I would have no problem with someone of the same religion but a different race teaching my child, as long as the methods of teaching are as we deem appropriate for our children.

Here is my answer.

I am part of the Mormon faith. I expect someone watching my kids to be a person of religion and actually practice there faith.

Race has no bearing. I have my kids attend a all Mormon school-I decided this because most of there teachers I see in church and know they are practicing and what princibles they live by. They believe in eternal consiquence for there actions. There is nothing more important to me than my children.

The biggest thing is people who do not abuse any substance of any sort.

I do not trust many people in regards to my children's education. I educate them at home using a Christian based curriculum.
If I trusted public education my children would still be sitting bored at a desk waiting for the rest the class to catch up with them.

Race has nothing to do with it. Religion shouldn't, either, as long as the teacher does not bring it into the curriculum in a public school.

Someone else. I want somebody with thorough education who is proficient in his field of teaching and is patient with chidlren. I want somebody that will teach my child using the Socratic method and would challenge him. Race and religion don't matter.

I'd trust an atheist over a theist with my child's education, their race is unimportant.

In order:
My wife or me.
Someone of my religion who is qualified.
Someone of my race who is qualified.
Homeschooling is the optimal way to educate kids.

Someone once said that if you let the village raise your kids, you end up with the village idiot.

It's up to the parents to teach their kids. I'm not saying that they shouldn't go to school. I'm saying that not all knowledge is learned in school. Most important principles and morals must be taught at home.

I don't care about a person's ethnicity. I also don't care about their religious beliefs, so long as they are presenting their information in an unbiased manner. I think exposing children to a variety of people is very important.
