You need to see a doctor, right away. I know that people have a poor view of depression but that is nonsense. It does not mean you are crazy and there is no reason to be ashamed. You could just have a chemical imbalance or need counseling over a past problem that you don't even realize is affecting you. Please see a doctor about this.

I am sorry thatyou feel so lonely and hopeless. If you are experiencing depression in waves, you might have something else going on. If your blood sugar is out of whack, that will affect your emotions. The same if you are having some allergies to something that you are eating. I would suggest that you go to the doctor and get an examination to make certain that there is nothing physically going on with you.

Diet, exercise, seeing a doc are all important parts. One thing that helps me when I "fall into the rabbit hole" is to make myself get involved in ANYTHING that takes my mind off of my own situation. It may sound crazy, but doing volunteer work, helping people that have it worse than I do helps me. It is also a good way to expand your own world, make friends and so on.

Try not to get on meds unless you have to. Like the other person said- eating right helps a lot. Try watching comedy. Keep a journal. Listen to music- it helps me realize I'm not alone in my feelings.

Take care of yourself. Sounds silly but eating right, and exercising, and treating yourself to things really goes a long way to making yourself feel better.
So does hanging around positive people and talking to someone when you feel down.
