Many users are regularly being deleted for no reason other than certain other people dislike them. Groups are attacking groups out of what seems to be pure spite. Violations are being arbitrarily assigned simply because others hold views one may not agree with. Is this what we want to see in here? Can't we avoid and defuse this warfare before this section of Y!A is ruined beyond repair?

awful peaceful talk for a Klingon. but I agree totally, there is to much reporting because a question or answer does not agree with you, and the insulting has gone beyond the limits of civil behavior.
when we start loosing contributors because of nasty remarks it is time to clean up our acts.

I certainly hope we can diffuse this situation. We need all of the tolerance and intelligence we can get on here. The account-deleting is ridiculous. I am hoping that somehow, we will all finally break through to Yahoo and make the standards for deleting an entire account stricter, rather than automatic. I see no reason why people on higher levels who have actually answered questions in a kind and unprejudiced manner couldn't vote upon which questions/anwers should actually be sent to the automated machine once they are reported. I know Markyy brought up this scenario in a question earlier today. Obviously, Yahoo would have to hire a few people to actually assign others to vote by READING their questions and responses, but I think it's a terrific idea.

Honestly, most people on this forum are respectful of others and make good faith efforts to abide by the community guidelines. However, there are people who post either questions or answers that blatantly offensive and inappropriate. This is especially troublesome considering that there are minors who participate in this forum and they should not be exposed to the kind of filth spewing forth from the minds of these select individuals. With that said, those who wish to violate the community in this way SHOULD be reported at every turn. I for one have no problem doing this when necessary, so feel free to chastise me privately if you feel the need. Yahoo Answers is a valuable service for so many of us. Let's keep it clean and keep the trolls out! We all remember how low the Yahoo discussion had sunk before they were scrapped. So if we have to report these clowns, let's do it !

Fundie Xian here -
I agree. The only time I report a user is when he/she uses a pornographic avatar (and I mean really pornographic) or when they use profanity. This is an open to the public site that children can view and I think as adults we all need to make sure it's a safe place.
Other than that, I do not report people just because I disagree with them. That's what the thumbs up/down thingy is for, right? We should never try to silence anyone just for voicing an opinion.

Sheol / Hades is a realm with 2 divisions (Matthew 11:23; 16:18; Luke 10:15; 16:23; Acts 2:27-31), the abodes of the kept and the lost. The homestead of the kept replaced into called "Paradise" and "Abraham's bosom." The abodes of the kept and the lost are separated by ability of a "tremendous gulf fastened" (Luke 16:26). The homestead of the dammed replaced into also there yet separated by ability of a magnificent body of water (Luke 16:19-31) at the same time as Jesus died he descended into Hell / Sheol / The Grave. at the same time as Jesus ascended to Heaven, He took the occupants of Paradise (believers) with Him (Ephesians 4:8-10). The lost area of Sheol / Hades has remained unchanged. All unbelieving useless bypass there looking forward to their very last judgment in the destiny. Did Jesus bypass to Sheol / Hades? sure, in accordance to Ephesians 4:8-10 and a million Peter 3:18-20.

I don't know... it may have been inevitable. Religion is an extremely sensitive topic, and all it takes is differing opinions for people to get mad and offended, and that causes them to do unnecessary things, like reporting people for bogus violations. The people that I know who got deleted did nothing wrong; all they did was hold different views than other people. But with this particular subject, that's all it takes for tempers to flare. I honestly don't know if it can be repaired; that would be awesome, and I'd love to see it, but I'm not sure.

i have been seeing this way too much lately. i've seen people disappear since i first found this site, and i've never understood why. if they don't like the questions they don't have to answer, and if they don't like the answers they can give them a thumbs down.
goddess knows i've gotten plenty of those.

the problem is that the people doing this would never agree to a live and let live cease fire.

i just wish that yahoo would investigate this stuff a little closer before they start deleting people.

It think it is of great value for people to have to see their thoughts in print in contrast to other's thoughts. It's not always pretty but it's so healthy. So many times I haven't realized I was wrong until the right person disagreed with me. Let's not be horrified by each other and ourselves. Let's observe it all very closely, in the hope of learning to understand ourselves and each other. Here we can rant and rave and expose our sometimes faulty thought processes without getting punched in the nose or burnt at the stake. I'm sure many people are learning. I am.

Before this section of Y!A is ruined beyond repair?

I'm not sure it's not too late.

I certainly have a rather sour taste in my mouth because people that posted interesting and polite questions are gone. People that reached Levels way above mine and never had problems before.

And yet people that write things like "WHORE OF SATAN,
DAUGHTER OF THE LIE, MEDIUM, SOOTHSAYER, MOTHER OF SATANS CHILDREN, SORCERESS " are still here.

No, I don't think it's what most people want to see. But how is it going to get defused if the 'reporters' carry on like this?

I'd like to think we could all 'Be Excellent to Each Other', but perhaps we can't.

Something's going down on this section. It might just be a bunch of trolls who are starting all of the trouble. Nobody knows. We might all be getting worked up for nothing. There are some haters on Yahoo Answers as well.
