#2) The Church (and Jesus - who called it being "Born Again" by water and the Spirit" in John Chapter 3) has always taught Baptismal regeneration. It is purification from sin. It's something God does. HE washes away our sins in the waters of the Sacrament that Jesus instituted - Holy Baptism (Go into all the world...etc.) It is the means (beginning of) salvation - which is a process.

It is a LOT more than symbolic: Romans 6:3 "Or do you not know that all of us who have been baptized into Christ Jesus have been baptized into His death? 4 Therefore we have been buried with Him through baptism into death, in order that as Christ was raised from the dead through the glory of the Father, so we too might walk in newness of life. 5 For if we have become united with Him in the likeness of His death, certainly we shall be also in the likeness of His resurrection,"

1. No you don't have to attend classes before being baptised. At least not at any church I've been to or heard of.

2. No. It is not purification of your soul or a means of salvation. Salvation isn't something you gain by acts or words, it's a matter of the heart. When you put your faith in God and trust Him with all of your heart, soul, and mind, you are a child of God.

3. Try reading Matthew 3:1-17. That should answer some of your questions. You should try talking to a pastor for any more questions you have.

4. Like I've said before, salvation isn't just words, but a matter of the heart. You can pray and ask Jesus for forgiveness a hundred times, but until you mean it with your heart they're just words.

I hope I've helped you.

Christian Baptism. This is the immersion of believers in water, in the name of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit, (146) in which are represented the burial and resurrection of Christ, the death of Christians to the world, the washing of their souls from the pollution of sin, their rising to newness of life, their engagement to serve God, and heir resurrection at the last day.(147)

(146) Matthew 28:19: Baptizing (Greek immersing) them in the name of the Father, and the Son, and the Holy Ghost. Colosians 2:12: Buried with him in baptism, wherein also ye are risen with him. Acts 8:36-39; Matthew 3:16; Mark 1:5; John 3:23;Acts 16:32-34; 2:41.

(147) Romans 6:4: Therefore we are buried with him by baptism into death: that like as Christ was raised up from the dead by the glory of the Father, even so we also should walk in newness of life. Col. 3:3; 2:12; Titus 3:5; Gal. 3:27; 1 Cor. 15:29.

<<1.do you have to attend classes before bieng baptised at a baptised church for learining about it or something>>

I am a member of the church of Christ, we don't do this. In order to be baptized, you have to hear and believe the Gospel. You have to be baptized IN ORDER TO GO TO HEAVEN. Faith must always precede baptism, so only those old enough to understand and believe the gospel are considered fit subjects for baptism. The word baptize comes from the Greek word "baptizo" and literally means, "to dip, to immerse, to plunge."

<<2.is being baptised purification of ones soul by water or is it a mean of salvation>>

It is a mean of salvation. Before you can be baptized, you have to repent of your sins and confess before men that Jesus Christ is the Son of God.

Every denomination has been built by man, and is based on division of those that believe that Jesus is the Christ (Matthew 12:25). There is no salvation in any denomination, no church that has built by man can offer salvation, but Christ is the Saviour of His church, to which He adds the saved. Salvation can ONLY be found in the Lord's church, since He died for His church. We are commanded to have no divisions among us (I Corinthians 1:10).

The most important thing, read the Bible for yourself.

II Timothy 2:15
(KJ21, 21st Century King James Version)
Study to show thyself approved unto God, a workman who needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.

<<3. whats the history behing baprtised like where was it created or widely used>>

Jesus Christ, Himself, was baptized. Jesus didn't need to be baptized, because He had no sin. He done it for an example, and we need to follow that example.

<<4. kind of like question 2 is being saved mean like you ask jesus for forgivness and ask him to be with you in your heart>>

If you are talking about the so-called "The Sinners' Prayer", it is nowhere to be found in the Bible.

Being baptised will not save you. It shows the world that you buried the old man and came out renewed. The thief on the cross was not baptised but went to paradise. If it saved you, then why was Jesus baptised? He did it as an example for us to follow to show the world that we have put off the old man and are renewed in the spirit.

As nearly every Christian doctrine, baptism originated in Judaism from what is called a "mikvah", or ritual cleansing.

Let me ask you a question now...the thief on the cross to whom Jesus said, "This day you will be with me in Paradise"...was he baptised?
Use this Scripture to help you put your questions into a Biblical perspective. This man was not baptised, yet Jesus said he was given access to Heaven (salvation) without baptism.

Baptism in the Baptist church is not necessary for salvation. Instead it is a way to publicly proclaim that you have made a decision to follow Jesus Christ as your personal Lord and Savior. I would recommend that you call your pastor and ask him. Sometimes they do a private baptism and other times, he may have others that also want to go through baptism. In either case, he probably will ask you some simple questions to make sure that you understand fully what baptism is all about, answer any questions or concerns that you may have, and then make sure you want to enter into this decision.

Baptism stems from the Baptism of Jesus by John the Baptist. In certain Christian denominations, many people believe in Infant Baptism, which is when the parents make the decision and they consider this the date that the child enters into baptism. Instead, the Baptists want the person to make their own choice to enter into a baptism.

Before Philip baptized the eunuch, Philip expounded first what troubles the eunuch. so you must understand ALL the teachings first before accepting the baptism. (Acts8:27)

baptism is the outward display of your acceptance of Christ..kinda initiation as you enter Christianity. It's just ritual..just like marriage..ceremony..but then commanded by Jesus and the apostles. It's a sacred ceremony. So as a would-be believer, you do it as a show of humility, and willingness to obey God through out your life.

Then, remember the thief on Jesus right side on the cross? is he saved? surely. Jesus gave him the assurance. is he baptized by water? i dont think so.

The scriptures indicate that baptism is our way INTO CHRIST. This is NOT what MOST Baptist churches teach.

- Romans 6:1 What should we say then? Should we keep on sinning so that God’s grace can increase? 2 Not at all! As far as sin is concerned, we are dead. So how can we keep on sinning? 3 All of us were BAPTIZED INTO CHRIST Jesus. Don’t you know that we were BAPTIZED INTO HIS DEATH? 4 BY BEING BAPTIZED, WE WERE BURIED WITH CHRIST INTO HIS DEATH. Christ has been raised from the dead by the Father’s glory. And like Christ we also can live a new life.
5 BY BEING BAPTIZED, WE HAVE BEEN JOINED WITH HIM IN HIS DEATH. We will certainly also be joined with him in his resurrection.

1Peter 3:21 The water of the flood is a picture of the BAPTISM THAT NOW SAVES YOU ALSO. The baptism I’m talking about has nothing to do with removing dirt from your body. Instead, it promises God that you will keep a clear sense of what is right and wrong. Jesus Christ has saved you by rising from the dead.

The ONLY New Testament book which tells HOW people BECAME Christians is Acts. Study it and see what IT says.

History & Origin: Jews used baptism (ritual washings) long before John's baptism and Christian baptism came along, so it was not an unusual command when, after the first Gospel sermon was preached, those who responded were commanded to "turn away from your sins and be baptized."

Acts 2:37 When the people heard this, their hearts were filled with shame. They said to Peter and the other apostles, “Brothers, what should we do?”
38 Peter replied, “All of you must turn away from your sins and be baptized in the name of Jesus Christ. Then your sins will be forgiven. You will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit. 39 The promise is for you and your children. It is also for all who are far away. It is for all whom the Lord our God will choose.”
40 Peter said many other things to warn them. He begged them, “Save yourselves from these evil people.” 41 Those who accepted his message were baptized. About 3,000 people joined the believers that day.

Question 4: What is commonly called "The Sinners' Prayer" is NOT found in scripture. NO ONE in the Bible was instructed to PRAY to become a Christian.

Someone asked about the "thief on the cross." This guy died UNDER THE LAW, before the Gospel was preached for the first time in Acts 2. Jesus had the power to forgive sins... that is what he did:

cf. Matthew 9:4 Jesus knew what they were thinking. So he said, “Why do you have evil thoughts in your hearts? 5 Is it easier to say, ‘Your sins are forgiven’? Or to say, ‘Get up and walk’? 6 I want you to know that the Son of Man has authority on earth to forgive sins.” Then he spoke to the man who could not walk. “Get up,” he said. “Take your mat and go home.” 7 The man got up and went home.

1. no. "believe and be baptized" not "know and be baptized".
2. Baptism symbolizes a person's death to sin and new birth in Christ through the Holy Spirit.
3. All I know is that Jesus was baptized and He commanded us to be baptized.
4. yeah. it's also about giving your all to Him: giving Him ownership of your life (live for Him).
