I've been taking Mobic for arthritis that developed in my ankle after I broke it a couple years ago. I started it 6 months ago, and I've had the flu 2 times this winter and a few stomach viruses and sinus infections. Could the med have lowered my resistance because I hardly ever got sick b4 9maybe once ayear if that often)?

Mobic is a NSAID like ibuprofen. So, it is an anti-inflammatory drug. It might impact your inflammatory immune response. The impact is small and not that significant.

Tell your doctor immediately if any of these unlikely but serious side effects occur: easy bruising/bleeding, fainting, fast/pounding heartbeat, persistent/severe headache, mental/mood changes, sudden/unexplained weight gain, swelling of the hands/feet, vision changes.

Tell your doctor immediately if any of these rare but very serious side effects occur: change in the amount of urine, seizures, signs of infection (e.g., fever, persistent sore throat), unexplained stiff neck.

the chemotherapeutic agents ( used for cancer therapy and autoimmune diseases like arthritis, SLE, arteritis(a disease of artery), myopathy, psoriasis etc. ) and cortico steroids (like prednisolone) can suppress the immune system. deficiency of certain elements like zinc and selenium are proposed/ claimed to cause immune deficiency, however the confirmation is not there by large controlled trials/ studies.
