I've tried everything: mental motivation, outside motivation, jealousy, guilt, and I even tried to eat so much ice cream I got sick just to prove that it was bad for me. Now I'm at the bottom rung of the diet ladder, and I've found that there's a bottomless pit right underneath me. It's like this big black hole that's threatening to suck me in. Somebody help me!

Challenge a friend to get in shape with you. Friendly competition is always a good motivator, especially when it comes to diet and exercise. Its working for me.

I've been there. Try finding a workout partner...finding someone else who's invested in keeping you motivated can be powerful. Make it interesting...see who can drop the most weight, run the fastest mile, et cetera after 10 weeks, loser takes winner to a movie or something like that.

For eating right, just stop buying foods that shouldn't be part of your diet. I know it seems simple but if you go to the grocery on a full stomach and really make the right choices, you'll be on a path in no time.

I've found that, once you make a healthy lifestyle part of your routine, you gradually crave your workouts and lose the desire to eat bad food because you know how far you've come. Good luck!

dont think of eating as a "diet". dont limit yourself to "healthy" foods all the time every day. Give yourself a "free day" to eat whatever you want. Start out small. If you like McDonalds, get your fav sandwhich and get the little dippers instead of fries. At home, try something new. Get out the cookbook. I suggest getting a crock pot and "crockpot cookbook". I think you'll be surpise how good these meals are and all you have to do is put everything in the pot and leave it to cook. Plus, going shopping for the foods can be fun. Try dried fruits for snacks. They are good on salads also. (challenge yourself to be creative with your salads! Put anything on it ) Different texutures of the same fruit is something new. Also, I know you probably can get pretty tired of drinking a ton of water. It is so blah. I discovered Aquafina Alive Wellness Water. It is better than the Splash kind. Not as strong and is enhanced with vitamins. Speaking of vitamins, take one! One more thing... try mini soy cakes. they are like rice cakes but better. Flavored or plain, they have 6 to 7 grams of protein a serving. protien is good. Try the "Stacy" brand. Try a leg of lamb instead of steak. Good stuff!! Hope this helps!

get a notebook and write down EVERY single thing you eat for the day, including how many glasses of water, and also what exercises you do..write in it EVERY day..don't skip yourself out or say 'ahh, well i had this cookie today but i don't think i'll write it down'...for most people when they see how much they consume in one day it's an eye opener and normally having to write everything down will help make you want to eat less and healthier..

it's absolutely free and it's soooo awesome, it has a place where you write down everything you eat and it will tell you how many calories you consumed in the day and it also has a place to put in what exercises you did and that also tells you how much you burned...it's very motivating..lol i sound like i'm a promoter or something, but seriously..try it out!!
