Right now the 'hot' jobs are:

UAV pilot (Army)
Satellite controller (Air Force)
Intelligence systems repair (Army)
Nuclear powerplant operator (Navy)

And you had better max out the ASVAB because these jobs only take the very best - then wash out about 50%.

Air traffic control, if offered in the Army. I assume it is, as they have a large fixed and rotary fleet of aircraft. Remember a job like ATC is trained first to Civilian standards, then you are trained over on military requirements. This means when you leave the service, you can step into a job as a civilian Air traffic Controller, and the wages are quite high..

97E - Military Intelligence Interrogator/Interpretor.

The Top Secret Security Clearance is worth its weight in gold. Couple that with a fluency in a demand language (ie Arabic, Chinese, Persian-Farsi, Russian, Korean) and you are invaluable to a global corporation or a federal agency.

It depends on where you go with the MOS after ETS/Retirement. MOS changes force you to change with it. The GI Bill will help with getting a degree. Electronics, telecommunications, and computers are a good shot.

I think out of the enlisted jobs that you dont need a freakin super clean security clearance, would be something like an x-ray technician or be a dental assistant. those soldiers work in such a relaxed environment I think they forget they are in the army!

Probably something in the IT field. Network admin type of stuff. That's what I would have done knowing what I know now. Network admins can get six figures if they're good.
25 series MOS I think. don't quote me.
