I have tattoos and love them so I am not one of those people who throw off on them. I also have a handicap son. I know his disability did not come from anything I did but sometimes you can not help but sit and think "did I do something wrong while I was pregnant." It is not worth those thoughts if your baby has a problem. You have less than nine months to wait but you have a life time with your kid. I would wait so that thought would never go through your head.

No you can not get a tattoo during a pregnancy, well it isn't suggested and most artists wont practice that way. An open wound, which a tattoo is can be very dangerous when pregnant and if infection sets in the baby is a number one target because the child is feeding off of the mother. One of my friends is 6 months pregnant and she got a tattoo before she found out that she was already pregnant. Her tattoo artist told her to make sure her doctor knew that she got it before she found out so that they could watch for signs of the baby reacting to it. It's just better to not mess with your body as far as modifications like tattoos, piercings and hair coloring while pregnant. The hormones, extreme dependency, and everything that could happen to the baby are not worth risking it. Talk to your artist I'm sure if he/she practices an upright shop they will not tattoo her there during pregnancy. Good luck, if it comes to it she can get hers later or you all can get them later to do them together.

A reputable artist will not tattoo or pierce you while you're pregnant. Your body is focused on the baby, and it can be more difficult to heal the tattoo. Because of this there is a higher risk of picking up an infection after you leave the tattoo parlour, which could lead to complications for both mom and baby.
Tell her to wait untill after the baby comes. If you guys can wait too, it would be a nice way to get her out and celebrate

Honestly, I think that it depends on where she wants the tattoo. Also, if you guys wanted one so bad because of all that you two went through together, what's waiting another 4 or 5 months? Just support her through the pregnancy and that way the tattoo will have even MORE meaning when you get it done. You have to think of the baby's health after all. You never know if the tattoo might affect the baby in any way. <3

Most tattoo artists, reputable ones anyway, won't even tattoo a pregnant woman. There are too many risks put onto the baby. Tattoos are forever. If your friend really wants it, she should be able to handle waiting another 4 months.

Well actually it is illegal for a tattoo artist to give a pregnant girl a tattoo.. and if they do it and get caught it is big fines... the girl getting the tattoo could also get a staph infection or other type of infection and that would also hurt the baby

Most places refuse to tattoo pregnant women.
Why? There is always a risk of some sort of infection with a tattoo. It's bad enough if an adult gets one..but what about the unborn fetus? Its just not worth the risk or liability.

NO NO NO NO NO! My tattoo artist told me why you cant get a tattoo when you are pregnant. this is why, when you get it done the immune system attacks the ink and tries to kill it basically but sometimes instead of attacking the area that you got tattoos the body will attack the fetus and cause the body to abort it. so under no circumstances should she go through with it. for the sake of her baby's health and life you should wait on her.

The shop I go to clearly states: We will not tattoo you if you are pregnant, or even think you are pregnant. NO EXCEPTIONS! So no, she can't and she shouldn't. If you really want it that badly, why don't you get yours and have her there for support? Then when she's ready, you can be there for her. Or better yet, you can both wait until after baby and go together. Just to many health risks to baby and mommy right now. Please wait:)

In theory you can but no reputable shop will do it.
Though even the cleanest shops could be trusted, I wouldn't want to risk the what ifs of the situation. Just wait until you have given birth and then get the tattoo.
