Usually osteoporosis causes pain only when a bone fractures. For the most part, it is a silent disease which is why many don't know they have it until they get a bone density scan or end up with a broken bone that they have no idea how they got.

If you have osteoporosis and are having pain, please see your doctor to be sure you haven't developed a fracture. If not, you need to find out the reason for your pain.
