I have hated it since day one and now come Sunday I hope is the worse race ever!!! And I LOVE BRISTOL but really hope nobody can make a clean pass and all the drivers give negative reviews after the race. Maybe then dipsh its like Mike Helton and France will pull their heads out of their butts and start giving the fans more of what they want and thats competitive racing at its best.

By introducing COT, it is making NASCAR more generic. Being a long time NASCAR fan, I'm noticing that in the last few years Nextel has been trying to make all the teams the same. It isn't the same as it was 5 years ago. Don't get me wrong, I enjoy change, but this may be going too far. The drivers don't seem as happy, and everything down to the interviews seems scripted. The commentators can't go three words without saying "brought to you by...(insert company name here), and it is getting much too commercial. It is not as much fun to watch as it was a few years ago. It looks like the officials are being paid to make sure certain drivers either win, or come close to it. The ghost debris cautions are making me nauseous. I love it when a driver wins because he and his team has done pit stops well, had excellent strategy and earned it, not when it has been handed to him.

From what I have read so far it will be close. Apparently none of the teams that have gone through the inspections this week have passed. NASCAR has to give the teams a couple of parts after they pass initial inspection but have not handed any out. I have also read that they will start inspection for the race a day early so that hopefully it won't impact the start of the race. I'm not happy about the changes, but all you can do is stop watching. I've watched this sport for 30 years and alot has changed over this time. Some good, some bad, and not always in the best interests of loyal fans. Get used to it. That's what big business and popularity does to everything.

Stop crying! If you don't like it then don't watch it! Nascar is bigger then ever and certainly doesn't need you as a fan to keep it afloat.

Do you Nascar haters have any idea of what you are talking about. Sure the COT's have some kinks that need to be worked out but once they figure it out it will provide a lot better racing. Those cars punch a hole in the air like the trucks do and the truck series has the best side by side racing right now.

Besides, do you know how much work, sweat, and money has gone into this program? IT IS NOT GOING TO FAIL!!

It is what it is! Again, if you don't like it, get the hell out!

By the way you might see Honda in Nascar before too much longer. Senior Honda Officials spent a lot of time in Charlotte during the off-season.

The look of the car has grown on me and I'm all for driver safety. What I don't like is the choice to launch it at Bristol. I wish they would have picked another track for the first race in case the thing turns out nasty. In the long run I hope they are right and it makes for better racing but we have heard that before over and over again and COT or not Bristol had good racing.

Ricecar is getting rediculous. I hope it fails too. The sport has really fallen off in the last few years. That Car of Trash looks stupid. If letting toyota in wasn't bad enough then they create these cars that look like satellite dishes. Won't be long and you'll probably see honda and kia in nascar. I watch racing to watch racing not to see wrecks, but I'd like to see all 43 cars wreck Sunday. Also I say Helton and France need to jump off a bridge together and give the fans their sport back.

Ya think they oughtta go get a bunch of Dodge Chargers & Ford Crown Vics from their local dealers, strip 'em down, build the motors & stuff roll cages in 'em like they did from the 50's up into the 70's? Too bad Chevy can't join in, since GM doesn't build a big rear-driver anymore...................................................................................
Personally, I'd love to see them using stock shells again. This way, if a car maker wants an aero avantage, they'd have to build slicker street versions.
Unfortunately, this isn't gonna happen. Those cars were unsafe then. With today's speeds we'd have a lot of dead racers.
The COT addresses safety, as well as leveling the playing field (not that I think the field needs to be leveled). Aerodynamically speaking, the passes should be cleaner & the racing better. I've even heard talk that this could eventually eliminate the restrictor plates at Daytona & Talladega. Face it, we're stuck with the COT just like we were stuck with front-drive Lumina & Cutlass bodies on rear-drive chassis. We can adjust to this like we adjusted to all the other changes. Like banning the Hemi. Like 358 cu in engine limits. Like bodies that already bear little resemblence to the real car.

No, I hope it's not! This is what NASCAR is mandating in the next 1 or 2 years.. Why would you want it to be a disaster? To ruin a year or more of NASCAR? Think about it.. If it does turn out bad, they will just turn around and start building another one that's better. Why wait? Its here man!! Accept the CHANGE!

well i really did not care for the new look at first but after i went to watch the COT cars test earlier this year at bristol they was not to bad they still looked like a racecar so honestly if it will make the drivers safer and make the racing even more competitive i am for it because it would be nice to make the sport as safe for those guys as possible

Why would you want it to be a disaster? If its a disaster it isnt going to stop them from rolling out the COT, all it is going to do is make them reevaluate what the car, figure out what went wrong and they are going to fix it.

I personally hope for the best, because I think that no matter the results the car is going to get rolled out on schedule.
