If there are, couldn't they sneak out and mate in the wild?

yes there are, i have seen them!
They are in the house of reptiles.
Could they sneak out?
well....
m.....
no they are bloody snakes!!

But even if they did both a male and a female would have to break out as the above answer says.

Another problem is that as most( if not all) the snakes are from exotic climes and would most likely die within hours of escaping! ( its freezin in ireland!)

so moral of the story, St. Patrick isn't coming back!

I am sure they could but a male and female would need to escape together for that. Maybe they are hatching a plan as we speak????

What is wrong with wild snakes anyway, imagine a family of king cobras in the bogs of county mayo, or a gang of rattlesnakes slithering through Clara, that would be cool!!!!!

haha I like this question! I guess St. Paddy couldnt stop Dublin Zoo from having snakes!

Yeah but every St Patricks day they are driven out in a VW camper for a picknick

Yes just not on March 17. On that day the Vet, S.T.Patrick drives them out.
