Yes it can.
Parkinson's is generally considered LOW dopamine levels.
The extra dopamine surplus created by the pills can and often does eventually cause the side effects of schizophrenia symptoms.
Schizophrenia is generally considered HIGH dopamine levels and the medications old and new are known to have side effects of parkinsonian symptoms.
Avoid pesticide insecticide herbicide funguscide or any other "anti-septic" or sterilization chemicals around his home and wash all fruits and veggies and you may prevent his parkisons from getting worse.
Any dopamine antagonists for his side effects from his parkinson meds that cause the hallucinations will only exaccerbate his parkinsons and impede his metabolism.
These pesticides stay in the ground and food for over fifty years and mix combine and break down with other poisons creating unknown and un heard of chemistry in the food and water. The accumulations of years of exposure to these toxins causes parkinsons.
You cannot get rid of the crap in the body by adding more crap to accumulate in the body you just end up destroying the catecholamine systems. The body always counters for every drug taken, if the pills provide too much dopamine eventually the dopamine system will try to compensate by shutting down the few active dopamine receptors that are left making the parkinsons worse eventually.
dbs or stn often end suffering right on the table or cause secondary infections never put electrodes in your thalamus.

Well, those are very extreme symptoms. There are other drugs on the market similar to Levadopa, Depo Parcova.
If you are in New York, try to give Dr. Tagliati a visit, he works at the Mount Sinai School of Medicine in Manhattan. He is a leading neurologist across the country, and has extensive research on DBS (Deep Brain Stimulation), a subject you should look into as an alternative to Levadopa, or in conjunction with Levadopa.
Tell your doctor about your father's symptoms, ask them if Deep Brain Stimulation is right for your father, and if your insurance will pay for it. I happen to be very sympathetic to those who suffer from Parkinson's. I hope your father gets better, and I hope this was helpful.

it certainly relies upon on who you ask, guy. some people became Ali's Parkinson's have been led to by ability of pounding and abuse interior the hoop, yet Ali would not think of it became. All i comprehend is, any boxer who has been struggling with for too long finally ends up having some thing worng with him. i've got seen a number of old combatants who's speech is affected, however the have not got Parkinson's. Myabe what Ali has is a mixture of Parkinson's, and punch-drunkeness. undergo in concepts, there have been combatants who took far greater photos than he did, extremely, Arturo Gatti, and so some distance, Gatti is wonderful, yet check out combatants like Bowe, Holyfield, and Meldrick Taylor. i think it only certainly relies upon on the way you check out it.

It could very well be caused by the drug.
I might be over simplifying this, but my understanding is that high dopamine levels can cause Parkinsonism and similar movement disorders, and low dopamine levels can cause psychotic symptoms such as hallucinations and delusions.
The older antipsychotic drugs like thorazine caused Parkinson-like symptoms in people with schizophrenia and other psychotic disorders, so it seems reasonable that anti-Parkinson drugs could cause hallucinations because of their effect on dopamine in the brain.
DId you ever see the movie "Awakenings" with Robin Williams and Robert DeNiro? It's based on the true story of a group of comatose patients getting out of their comas after treatment will L-Dopa. The Robert DeNiro character gets out of his coma, but he starts to have delusional symptoms over time. I know it's just a movie, but I think they tried to base it on fact as much as possible.

It is indeed the drug. I had a grandfather with this and the drug L-dopa caused him to see his dead wife and it made him feel like there were bugs crawling all over him. There are other drugs but they will be used with L-dopa is no longer effective.
