Any suggestions? The kitchen appliances are all black. What color would be good for countertops and cabinets. I have to choose the colors of the vinyl siding although I do not want white because it gets dirty fast. I think I have chosen this taupy brown for the walls throughout and dark cherry ceiling fans. What about the carpet any suggestions or any good websites? My favorite color is red if that would help.

Show your personality. Whatever colors you pick will reflect who you are and make you feel at home. If you like red, i'd suggest picking one room to do in red, but only use it as an accent wall and that way it won't overpower the room or your home.
If you can afford it granite countertops would look gorgeous and the cabinets stained in old english would be gorgeous. Or perhaps a mahogany. That would be pretty too.
As for flooring i would say do all the floors the same. it makes your house flow nicely and gives it a bigger feel.
If ti were me i'd do hardwood floors everywhere but in the kitchen and bathrooms and in there i would do a neutral tile. Also if you ever change your mind or taste in decorating, hardwood and neutral tiles will go with just about anything so gives you a greater freedom for future choices as well as the style you do now.
Congrats on the new house and i hope it turns out just the way you want.
You may want to try Lowe's or home depot on line, they sometimes have programs where you can see what certain styles look like together.

Picking one color for the entire house won't work. Reason being the color will look different depending on the lighting. In halls, laundry rooms, closets and bathrooms the color will appear darker because of the lack of natural light.
The brown you chose would look fine in the main rooms of the house but seem very dark in the areas I mentioned. I would go with an off white in those parts.
You said you like red. You could have a red accent wall. A red front door. You can always bring in favorite colors with the furnishing and accessories.
I think black coutertops, with light natural cabinets and charcoal tile floor is a nice sleek look and would work well with your choice of brown and red.
You are right about the siding. White does get dirty. Don't forget the exterior trim. It doesn't have to be white. I personally like the homes with the brownish gutters and trim.

go to lowe's.com. They have a virtual painter you can use to paint sample rooms hundreds of colors, inc. decorator. You can also use this to "paint" exteriors too. It's great! They don't have one for flooring, but the site is so large, I'm sure you can get alot of ideas for that too.
