I am in the market for a digital camera. Can you tell me the difference between the Cyber-shot® Digital CameraDSC-T20/P & the Cyber-shot® Digital CameraDSC-W80/P.

I know the T20/P has more megapixels, but is it actually worth more? Is Sony a good brand for digital cameras? Can anyone suggest another good camera for uner $300. I am looking fos something that takes clear pics, stylish, and has a large LCD screen.

Thanks!

I own a Sony CyberShot DSC-H2 and love the 8x10 enlargements from it.
There are excellent Sonys out there and not so excellent ones. The same goes for Canons.
An answer you got saying the more megapixels, the better quality picture is wrong. It's megapixels + the quality of lens.
Nov'06 Consumer Reports in your local library clearly shows under subcompact cameras that a Sony with 5 megapixels, a Canon with 6 megapixels, a Nikon and Pentax with 6 megapixels produced a good 8X10 enlargement. But not very good or excellent.Under compact cameras A Canon A520 produced an excellent 8X10 with just 4 megapixels. The A520 is discontinued.
So yes shoot for Sony, Canon and even Fugi for brands to choose from. Don't get into the megapixel hype. My point is that even the best brands do not always produce the best quality in every one of their cameras. Do research, aka Consumer Reports, a Website dpreview.com is one to check out for people reviews of cameras.

If you really like sony, I'd go with the W series. over the T20. The T-series was always their smallest, and they charged extra for the tiny packaging. However- the W series has been catching up and now they're nearly the same size- but the W has a bigger lens and is a lot cheaper.

For under 300- that leaves out any of the really good Canon camera- except their A series- such as the A710IS. For a great deal on a compact camera that has truly excellent image quality- look at the Fuji F20 and F30/F31fd. Megapixels aren't everything and the Fuji 6Mp cameras resolve more than most 8Mp cameras from other companies- as their pixels are bigger.

From all of the reviews I have read and opinions from photographers the Sony brand is not a very good brand for digital cameras. I could recommend the Canon Powershot range in under $300. Mine is an older A540 and its excellent. My Sony Cybershot had a poor quality sensor and lense and it used to give photos a water colour effect when it automatically reduced noise.

I just bought the sony cybershot DSC-W100. Go with the one with more megapixels because it will take better quality photos. The version I have has a large LCD screen and takes amazing quality pics. It's also pretty small and looks cool. I bought it at Circuit City for $199 and it's the newest version of Sony Cybershot.

I have the Sony N2 and love it! Especially with kids cause of the paint function.
Think it was $399. The T cam sucked.

Depends on what you would call a "clear pic". I shoot with nothing but DSLR's and personally dont think anything under $300 can take a satisfactory pic. At least not for my purposes.
