What is the point of those family member stickers people stick on their minivan/SUV rear window?

You know, the mom, dad, son, daughter, baby, pet...?

It's a sign that really is trying to express the child's inner most thoughts, "Look, my dad is an idiot!" As if we didn't already know they were a parent...they are driving a minivan. Really, I don't know...it's pretty senseless to me!
