G'day G-baby,

Thank you for your question.

On the mainland, the indigenous people of Australia are known as aboriginals. In the Torres Strait, they are known as Torres Strait Islanders. The collective title for both is indigenous Australians.

I have attached sources for your reference.

Regards

The native people of Australia who are indigenous to Australia are called Aboriginals or Aborigines. Unfortunately they are losing their culture etc in many parts of Australia. Too many aboriginals are drinking (alcohol) to excess and as a result many children are growing up neglected in some parts of Australia. In other parts such as up north in Western Australia, they are still leading similar lives just like before Australia was "settled". I hope I have helped.
