I have Windows Vista and i cant figure out how to record a dvd to my pc. someone else i know has the same windows and is able to do it, but i cant get ahold of them. I want to record my dvd Lake House onto my pc so i can make an extra copy.

If you want to back up your legally owned copy of the movie you can try my advice, it might work.

Download Dvdfab Decrypter from the site below.

Have it decrypt to your harddrive ( Insert the disk into your dvd-writer/dvd-rom. open DVD FAB decrypter. Take note of the path at the field TARGET. Click Start).

Then use dvd-shrink to make a back up of the files on the hard drive (OPEN FILES and show it where the dvd was decrypted to). Take out the subtitles and some of the sound tracks to increase the quality, click BACK UP. If you are confused try the tutorials at the DVD Shrink Site

P.S. I think all the programs I listed work in Windows Vista.
