The doc. prescribed klonopin, well it works but is addictrive. I want to know if anyone has taken valerian with wellbutrin. I have anxiety attacks and cannot manage them anymore. I don't want the doc. to think I'm a drug head, so just curious to see or nif anyone knows about this combo.

I heard valerian was for anxiety, but haven't taken any of course. I have been on wellbutrin for about 2 years and am wanting to get off that and only been on klonopin for about a month. Sorry, I should have included more information. Unfortunately I have been blessed with these problems. I have been on anti- depressants for all together 10 years. I keep having anxiety attacks no matter what, dr.'s (md) just don't seem to understand I mean damn I'm on 300mg. of wellbutrin.

DO NOT DO NOT DO NOT take Wellbutrin if you are trying to get off Klonopin. Klonopin is an anti-convulsant and a side effect of Klonopin withdrawal is seizures... a side effect of Wellbutrine is ---- SEIZURES. If your doctor prescribes Wellbutrine when you are stopping Klonpin he is putting you in great danger.

edit: Your doctor is an idiot, as is the person who gave my answer a low rating. Prescribing Wellbutrine and Klonopin at the same time is simply idiotic. If you have only been taking the klonopin for a month you are probably going to be okay, but your doctor put you at serious risk by prescribing both at the same time. You definitely need to talk to a better doctor than the one you have now, as I am horrified that he would know this little about drug interactions. Another common side effect of Wellbutrine is anxiety -- so I would recommend you stop taking Wellbutrine as well as the Klonopin. See a psychiatrist (they can prescribe medication), or a psychologist (for counseling -- without counseling the medication will probably not help much).

As for the Valerian -- don't take anything without first consulting a doctor. Drug interactions can be very dangerous, even when it's between something as seemingly insignificant as Valerian root and an anti-depressant.

Are you talking about the herb Valerian? I wouldn't take an herbal medication with a prescribed medication unless the doctor were aware of it. Some herbs lessen the effect of an antidepressant, so they might counter the Wellbutrin.

If you have concerns about becoming addicted to the Klonopin, by all means tell your doctor! The Dr. should respect your concerns and very likely could prescribe another medication. There are a lot of other medications for anxiety now days.

If your doctor isn't responsive, look for a counselor who has someone who can prescribe in their practice, perhaps a psychiatrist or nurse practitioner.. Many Md's aren't as knowledgeable about psych meds as people in the mental health field. You have a right to be comfortable with your medication, but don't go off your medication or change it without telling the doctor or finding a new health provider.. You could have very bad results if you do that.

You may have to push to get treatment you're comfortable with but it's your right! Good luck.

you mustn't have any problems with this habitual of medicine. i'm Bipolar and that i take Lexipro, Xanax and Seroquel all jointly and it has helped me to be waiting to perform oftentimes. you probable won't even observe while the paxil kicks in. I do have one difficulty although i'm not a physician however the wellbutrin concerns me because of the fact it has various part outcomes yet in case you have been on in for a month and a 0.5 and have not observed any problems i does not project approximately it. in case you have any part outcomes from the trio there are drugs obtainable which includes cogentin which will decrease the part outcomes of the trio.

Do not start taking Valarian root without first checking with your doc as this may not be something you can use with the drugs you are on. Also the valarian root is for sleep not for anxiety so I am not sure why you want to use it unless you are are having sleep problems.
