i have sorta been on a strict diet to lose 10 pounds in about 10 days for an important show. i look bad in my costume and today i started my diet. in the morning i had grapes, at lunch i had salad with no dressing and two bottles of water, i got home from school and had a few grapes and an apple, then i had two bowls of salad and i was only supposed to have one. then i had 4 apple cinnamin rice cakes and almost one whole thing of the oriental nut mix things. i know those have lots of calories and i ate so much ! i also i had some apple jacks. i feeel soooooo guilty. at the end of the day i ruined my first day of my diet that i dont have time for ! i even tried to throw up. its late and i cant go to run. what should i do !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

IM A VEGETARIAN 13 years old, 5'3 and 122 !!!!! i want to lost 12 pounds ! after this diet for the show, i will go on a less strict one. i want to lose before summmer !

i agree, you are eating too little. eat more filling meals, add some lean meats like fish and chicken. fruits are for snacks. its better to have a filling meal and not have to eat for a while than to have all these little snacks only to end up hungry half an hour later b/c it makes you eat more. Get a food pyramid, and try to follow it as closely as possible.

well, you should have said something before! i still suggest following a food pyramid, there are a lot of vegetarian-friendly foods there.

Ummm....eat? You are not taking enough calories in the first place. Start by eating more than grapes for breakfast. Maybe add some protein and other healthier carbs..like oatmeal. This will help you stay fuller longer and it is healthier for you. You can have a salad for lunch and maybe add some fat free turkey , low or no fat cheese, and some low or no fat salad dressing. And have sensible dinner (i.e. vegetable soup, grilled chicken breast). Make sure that you have some healthy snacks to snack on a couple times a day (like the grapes). If you almost starve yourself on your "leaf diet all day", when finally do attempt to eat something else (like the oriental nut mix) you are most likely to over eat...escpecially if it tastes good. Your body is thinking yum food, we aren't starving anymore, lets take it all in!!! BTW,10 days may not enough time for your body to lose 10lbs. There is nothing wrong with trying to lose weight, just try do it the right way. And remember to move more, you don't have run all the time...you can dance to your favorite tunes for an hour! Please do not try to "throw it up" either, you will heading down a DANGEROUS road. You are young remeber to enjoy life! Take care...

Relax ok!!!!! Your diet isnt RUINED! Just work EXTRA hard tomorrow! Do 10 more situps, a half an extra mile extra! Also, it sounds like your starving yourself, I've tried it, TRUST ME! It DONEST WORK! I just ended up miserable & a few pounds heavier, cause when I did eat my body would go into starvation mode & store all the cals as food. Just have a balenced breakfast (cheerios or oatmeal (NO SUGARY CEREALS!!)) Then 4 lunch have a delicious sanwhich on whole wheat bread & maybe a 1/2 serving of chips if you MUST! For a snack a granola bar (NOT A SUGARY ONE!) For dinner some pasta or a big salad or mac & cheese or something delicious!!! Try to walk at least 10,000 steps aa day (buy a pedometer at walmart or target for about $5-15, there fun!) do 33 situps before school, 33 when you get home then 33 before dinner. Dance around the house, volunteer to take the dog for a walk to walk with a friend somewhere! Before you know it youll have a kickass body!!

You're 13, you're 5'3" and 122. You've indicated trying to vomit food you've eaten, and there's a suggestion that compulsive exercise may be a factor.

Darling, as much as I hate to say it, you don't need a diet, you need a psychiatrist. If you don't have an eating disorder already, if you keep going on like this, it certainly won't be long before you meet the clinical requirements for diagnosis.

hell i didn't even know they still made apple jacks.. i want some now, thanks a lot. lol do crunches, push ups, run in place or something, put on some music and dance..get your heart rate up...go on youtube.com and search for some exersice videos..there's so much more you can do other then go for a run..try some ipecac lol that'll make ya puke for sure

you're eating too little so it's no wonder you're hungry!

add some protein to your diet, for heaven's sake.
