christians don't argue that, only evangelicals do.
people need to learn that there is a huge difference between your average christian and an evangelical....and it ain't pretty.

I don't believe God would allow earnest inquiry to be pure deception. In fact He has promised the opposite and has said to come and reason with Him. To seek and you will find. Problem with many who approach the bible is they have preconceived ideas which may or may not be true and it takes an open mind to learn new truth through study.

I can only explain this from experience.
Before I received Jesus, I couldn't understand the Holy Bible.
I had questions also.
I believed in God and Jesus, but I never knew I had to have a personal relationship with Jesus.
I knew about God and Jesus, but I couldn't even have a conversation about Jesus, I could talk about God all day long.
I realized something was missing in my life and nothing or
anybody in this world could fill that void.
A year ago I accepted Jesus as my Lord and Savior.
I did this out of pure faith from my heart.
It wasn't that anyone told me, or I read it in the Holy Bilble
I knew nothing about the Holy Spirit, so I didn't know what to expect.
That day I accepted Jesus I felt my heart starting to change,
I was so overwhelmed with joy, and the passion for Jesus starting to grow more and more. Now I can't stop telling people about what Jesus has done in my life.
I started reading the Bible and it was like the Scriptures were coming to life, everything began to make since.
When you accept Christ, He sends the Holy Spirit and Holy Spirit starts revealing Truth.
In order to understand the Bible you have to have the Spirit of God, it is impossible with the natural mind.
Most of my Bible is highlighted, because as I read It, I feel the
same way and I understand.
I tell people not to base their beliefs on religion or man.
Seek with your heart.
It's all about having a relationship with Jesus.
This is one of my favorite verses-
"For I know the plans I have for you, declares the LORD, plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you a hope and a future. Then you will call upon Me and come and pray to Me and I will listen to you. You will seek Me and find Me when you seek Me with all your heart. (Jeremiah 29: 11-13)
Study the New Testament first, then the Old Testament, You see Jesus everywhere.
If you truly want to understand, you have to ask Jesus

Its smart to be wary of lies or false hopes and its smart to be skeptical of anything that claims to give eternal life or perfect happiness--its good to question--but to question earnestly!!
Have you read the bible and searched the scriptures earnestly to find out whether or not you believe it?
Acts 17:11
11Now the Bereans were of more noble character than the Thessalonians, for they received the message with great eagerness and examined the Scriptures every day to see if what Paul said was true.
Isaiah 45:19
...I have not said to Jacob's descendants, 'Seek me in vain.' I, the LORD, speak the truth; I declare what is right.

Jesus answered, "I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me".

Hey! Where is your faith? You are not allowed to question the word of God. He loves you so much that if you don't love him back you will suffer unimaginable pain. You will burn in hell for your blasphemous inquiries!!!
Kinda sounds like my last girlfriend. She thought I should worshiped her because she has a vagina.

I do not see how you can come to that conclusion. However, reading some of the Yahoos here on Yahoo... well, I sort of can. So if you wish to ask me a specific question, I will try to give you an honest answer. If you are honest with me, I will be honest with you.
