Sweetie, my heart goes out to you...

You may have a genetic predisposition toward addiction... but as long as you steer clear from using, you won't have to worry.

You can't become addicted to something you've never done!

I'm a little perplexed by how you stated your question. Am I correct in assuming that you have never tried drugs but are simply afraid that because you came out of the womb addicted to meth, that you still are addicted to meth? Assuming you have never tried meth, and the only exposure to it was from when you were still in your mother's womb does not mean that you are currently addicted to meth-amphetamines.

However, it is plainly in your best interest to never run with the type of crowd where this would even be an option for you because you more than likely do have a predisposition to addiction the same way other people might have a genetic predisposition to diabetes or cancer.

They answer is YES. You have already been exposed in utero for the first time, so the connection has already been established. You are considered an extremly high risk person at this point. Many first time users with no history of family addictions become completely hooked the first time.. so imagine what that makes you. Please stay away from drugs. My husband has been an addict forth past 7 years it is not worth it and such a waste of your life. You only get one brain.

No, you aren't. There has been research which shows that you might be more susceptible to addiction, but you can't be addicted to a substance you haven't actually used. Shortly after your birth you may have had some physical symptoms of addiction but those will have left your system a long time ago. I'm sorry about your mother by the way.

You are not addicted to any drugs because you just said you don't do drugs. You may have been addicted when you were born but the drugs have been out of your system for years now if you are old enough to walk, talk and type on a computer.

Having a mom who did drugs during pregnancy wouldn't hurt you mentally, just physically. You could have been born with diseases or something like, you could have even died yourself. But addiction is caused by CHOICE! DON'T make that choice!!! So many people don't realized drugs freaking screws up your life! I never did them!! But i know from common sense. Consult a psychiatrist if necessary...

To be addicted to a drug or alcohol, you have to be using them. As long as you never take them, (other than prescribed medications) you should be fine, but if, out of curiosity, you try some, there is a chance you too could become addicted.

You may have a genetic predisposition to addiction so you should not even try any drugs just in case. It's been long enough by now that if you were born addicted to drugs you wouldn't be anymore.

well, according to science, you can be but there is always a way to stop. So you can go to a doc and get a urine or blood test to see if you are even addicted. If yes, then try going to counslers or a trusted adult. I wish u all the luck and hope you are not addicted!!!
