I would recommend also having a devotional book or Bible study in order to have some guidance for what to read. I also got a lot out of Rick Warren's "The Purpose Driven Life." Good luck!

First say a prayer.

Second, start at one end of the scriptures and work your way through it. Each day at the end mark your spot and continue with the chapter you were reading last.

Third, meditate over the things you read through out the day. There has to be something you read that the Lord wanted you to hear each day.

When we pray we ask God for answers. When we read the scriptures, he answers our prayers.

If what you are reading isn't absorbing enough to keep your attention, try another book. Don't waste your quiet time wrestling with what you're reading.
