To be perfectly honest, it can go either way.

I know exactly what the saying feels like...my man works two hours from here, so he stays out of town all week and only comes home for the weekends. I miss him so much during that week even though we talk every night, that when we do get our time together it makes every moment that much more precious. We definitely don't take each other for granted as much as we used to when we were together every waking moment. For those people who say it's not going to last if they are apart for a short or long period of time maybe weren't meant to be together. Love doesn't separate just because people are separated by miles.

My husband is in the Navy and is gone for AT LEAST 9 months out of every year. Every time he is gone it makes us both realize how much we do love each other and makes our relationship stronger. So, I agree in the statement "Absence makes the heart grow fonder" 100%.

Because someone else maybe filling the gaps. Unless there are some valid reasons. Love does not end in months. Mine is after not seeing for more than 18 years, I still love this girl and likewise she's feeling the same. Except both of us now are with different spouse, we know that. Its both our fault because we keep that gaps for so long before we realized that we really love each other.

absence does make the heart grow fonder. my husband went to jail for a while and we he got out he was happy to see me. we had a lot to make up if you know what i mean. you're right love and devotion can make a relationship last no matter what.

Well, that statment does not turn into "absence". its actually "trust" at that point. People who say that, mean, "Do u think she reallly loves me enough to not be cheating on me?" or they just start questioning themselves because the pychcology in our brain starts to "question" things, like "everything is okay between us right?" just to constantly have reassurance that we are being loved or like. But abscence which makes the heart grow fonder, is like every other day kinda thing, when u want to see them really bad, but u have to wait awhile kinda thing.
Hope i helped :)

Well, not seeing someone for a while makes emotions sprout more for them and they just want them, but if its too long, its just annoying. Personally, I believe in faith and destiny, but sometimes long distant relationships make each other vunerable and just not want it anymore. The heart is a tough matter to discuss; it works funny. My advice to you is to just follow your heart and don't give up on love! Its not worth it!

Absense can make the heart grow fonder, but long-distance relationships can be real hard to sustain.

Love and devotion can definitely make it work...but it has to be there...I lived over seas for 2 years while my girlfriend was stateside and we stayed together the whole time.

I totally agree with you. But depending on your age, being away from someone for that long will cause your mind to wonder what it would be like to be with someone else. If you are young and adventurous then you may not want to wait so long. But if you are older and sure of yourself then I know you can be patient for as long as it takes to see your love.

ABSENCE CAN MAKE THE HEART GROW FONDER BUT DE PENS ON THE PERSON . WHEN YOU DO NOT SEE PERSON. YOU START TO REALIZE YOU REALLY LOVED THAT PERSON. YOU START TO GET IN TOUCH WITH YOUR FEELINGS ABOUT THAT PERSON THAT YOU Was NOT SURE ABOUT AT FIRST IF YOU REALLY LOVE THAT PERSON.IT COULD MAKE PEOPLE VERY MAD NOT GETTING TO SEE EACH OTHER TO.OR MAKE THEIR FEELINGS STRONGER EITHER WAY.
