Ive decided that i want to go ireland for two weeks in August. But Iam in a really tight budget. I have another friend comming with me for the ride and another friend still thinking about the trip. I want to spend a week in Dubland and i want to spend another week juss wondering around the countryside. This would involve a car. so my question is what would be the total cost for this trip. Would the trip be cheaper if i involve more then one friend to help out with finances?

Cost depends first of all in where you are traveling from. If you are in the U.S., traveling from the west coast will be much higher than traveling from the East Coast (NY, Boston, etc.). Secondly, August is peak travel season. Prices will be much higher than if you wait a month or so and travel in the fall. For a week in Ireland, I'd budget about $150-$200 a day for food and lodging. If you buy your food at a grocery store and stay in hostels it will be much less than that, but if you stay in hotels and eat in restaurants, the price naturally wil be more. I wouldn't advise renting a car, not only is the rental alone expensive, but gas prices are outrageous! It's just as easy to take the bus everywhere. Bus Eirean is very cheap and goes just about everyplace you can think of. Definitely see if your friends can help out with the cost. Ticket prices alone in August can run up to over $1000 each, unless you're lucky enough to find a great bargain.
