Grilling is good, but a skilled cook can make delish dishes a number of ways. I happen to like to cook in cast iron. Part of it is tradition and part of it is my meals always turn out so much better that way. I really like cooking over a campfire, so I have a rather large selection of old and new cast iron cookware, from an African potjie (looks like the pots you see in cartoons where a pith-helmeted explorer is being boiled by angry locals) to a 15-inch skillet I can do a dozen eggs in all at once.

I agree with grilling. It's fun, relaxing and delicious. We like to use the cookout calculator at charcoalbob.com to plan our dinners. Just enter things like the time you want to eat and the details about your grill and the items you'll be grilling and it gives you printable instructions for how to make it all happen right on schedule.

there is no best method. I mean, there are best methods for certain things to be cooked, but in general, there is no "Best" method. I mean, you can't grill an egg, can you? there are best methods for different things, but no method is better than another, it all depends on what you're cooking, and what you're trying to accomplish.

Placing your meat on a rack under a hot grill allows all of the fat drip away.

Usually the most healthy ways to cook your food is to broil, bake, and grill. I stick with broil and bake.
