Me and this friend of mine have decided to have casual 'relations' and I was wondering what are some rules that might be important in order for it to run smoothly and not get screwed up.

I have a friend going through a probelm like this already...Her beneficial friend told her that he loves her. (this is not how friends with benefits goes...no love, no love!)
1. Do not spend all your time with her...you will either grow to hate each other or fall in love with each other.
2. Do not be exclusive to just this one person! (see other people please)
3.Do not have unprotected sex with her. ( it tells her that your trust her, and their needs not to be any trust involved into the relationship b/c you all are not exclusive.)
4. Bang or just have sex..."Don't make love", don't treat this person like your some day wife in the bedroom"(Cause great sex/lovemaking can't mess a person's mind up real bad!)

The best rule I had back i the day was "No Jealousy".
I'm a guy, and guys can get jealous, but hey, so can women. The key here is to not care if they are sleeping with other people. And if they develop a relationship with someone, then let it go, and go find friends elsewhere. Is'nt the Internet a great thing. Its so easy to find friends on here.

When you enter this type of relationship, rules usually do not last. Usually, the standard rules would be: No jealousy if one finds someone else, No falling in love, etc... But, there always IS jealousy and someone DOES fall in love. Trust me, "friends with benefits" never seems to work out the way you intended. And, you almost always lose the "friends" part in the end. Avoid this at all costs, unless you can see yourselves falling in love together.

the best and only rule i can tell you is DON"T do it. It can't help but get screwed up! no matter what you say, SEX will change your relationship and you will wind up losing a good friend.
