My opinion. There is love and then there is love. I love life. I love people. I also love to be alone. Romanic love--yes, it is nice, it is great but if one does not find that love or finds and loses it, one can still survive and live a very fulfilling life and a happy life. Just don't let life get you down. Keep busy with the things you enjoy. Know yourself and love yourself.
Best of luck.

How are you going to be happy if you are asking for tips on how to be happy without love? Just a thought. There are different types of love. No one lives without love. You have love of some type in your life. Have a pet? The kind of love you are speaking of is from a spouse or significant other. You've been hurt in the past otherwise you wouldn't be asking this question. The past is over so leave it where it is. As far as tips for being happy, just do what you like to do.

1. Say yes to every opportunity to learn, grow and meet new people.
2. Be grateful for what you have. After the grieving period, focus on what you do have for example, good health and a good support system of family and friends.
3. Don't be afraid to invest yourself in deep relationships with other people. You don't have to be dating somebody to have a intimate and fulfilling relationship with them. Don't be afraid to open up and be vulnerable sometimes.
4. Decide for yourself if there are aspects of your life or your personality that you would like to change and do it. You are your best evaluator. You don't need to listen to those people who tell you that you are single because you are too "picky", too fat,or too old to meet someone else.
5. Ignore the toxic people in your life. It is easy to recognize them. Their negative words of fear and discouragement sap your energy.
6. Think about all the things you can do because you are now single. You could take off and go travelling without discussing it with somebody else. You can watch TV all day without being called lazy. You don't actually have to do these things but, sometimes, just the knowledge that you could is enough to make you feel great.
7. Invest in yourself. Save some money and get a professional massage. Get a manicure and pedicure .... anything that nurtures your body and lifts your spirit.

Good for you. Being happy without depending on love will get you through a lot of stressful times. Just be open to it when it comes along. If you can be happy without love, having love is like the icing on the cake.

It's perfectly fine to want some time off from a relationship. But after a while of lonely happiness, you'll realize you're in denial. Everyone needs a special someone by their side to share life with, wake up with, etc. Sounds like you need some time off, maybe to heal from a past relationship. Clear your head, get your priorities in order and don't force love. it will happen and you'll know when it's right. be careful- rebounds are painful for both parties...don't rush off to the next available single- take things slowly.

I'm 24 single and content. I am sure I could be happier with someone I loved but for now - I'm happy. Besides, at this point in my life a relationship would complicate things.
The biggest deterrent to my happiness was loneliness. Guster, the new pup, cured that now I'm much happier. My tip? Get something that greets you upon arriving home.

How to be a successful single? First, you need to find out who you are. What do you like to do? What are you passionate about? Then, go out and do those things. Get involved. Join groups, activities that interest you. Meet new people, make new friends.
Not everyone needs to have romantic love. We can have very fulfilling relationships with friends and family. Just make sure that you aren't just sitting in your home all by yourself. This can make for a very lonely life.

learn to love being single....learn to find yourself while you are single and learn what you want from the next 'relationship' in life that you may encounter.
and can I just say....that love has NO dependence...if you think that you have to be dependent on love to be happy....you obviously have not loved yet.
good luck

The important thing is learning how to love yourself.
People often confuse sexual relationships with love.
I have many friends that I love and friends that love me as well.
So learn to love and appreciate yourself.

Find something else to get passionate about. Career, hobby, issue, whatever. In time you'll be so focused on that one thing that you won't have any time for a relationship.
