It's the ultimate defining moment. The one we are all aware of but all avoid: One day our life on this earth will end.
Time is running out.
We don't know how much time is left. But we know it won't last forever. It's an undeniable fact. And like all defining moments there is a lot we can't explain about death. But based on the undeniable facts, there are some very important conclusions we can draw that will impact us not only for the rest of this life, but also the life to come. The fact that our time is running out, is something we tend to put out of our minds. And yet it is one of the most important truths to remember.
2. Corinthians 5:10 "For we must all appear before the judgment seat of Christ, that each one may receive what is due him for the things done while in the body, whether good or bad."

Assuming what you say is the truth and not assumed to be so ipse dixit from the Bible: I am fine with it. I have made good decisions in my life. I have helped people, both financially, emotionally, psychologically, and physically. I have my beliefs and they have helped me through life and help me to be settled with death. I have done good things while "in the body," and I am confident in myself. I do not expect reward, as I find that presumptuous, but if there is an afterlife that is at all just, I am confident that it will treat me fairly for how I have conducted myself on this Earth.

I believe it is true that we will be given an account for our lives.

How do I feel about it? I am sure I have created some bad karma in my past. There is nothing I can do about it now except to live the best I can to create good karma and minimize the effect of the bad karma. I will just have to face whatever the consequence that is due me.

There are times when I ask of myself if I'd rather just go to eternal damnation now and save myself the embarrassment, but then I remember that Christ called us to follow Him knowing that we are imperfect and prone to mistakes and failings. Truly, this reason alone next to the forgiveness of Christ makes me glad to be alive and on the winning team! Even if I mess up the play tomorrow or tonight!

My account began in late Dec. of last year. At first I thought I was going to die, because you hear people say how your life flashes before your eyes. Sins I could not even remember were exposed. I now know I am not going to die, I will live :)

I was terrified of it at first but after reading a lot of near death experiences they say you pretty much judge yourself but it is still painful when you see the bad things you have done. The Bible says believers will have no condemnation when we die.

i get nervous,,,,when i think about it..

17:14 (It will be said to him:) "Read thine (own) record: Sufficient is thy soul this day to make out an account against thee."

17:15 Who receiveth guidance, receiveth it for his own benefit: who goeth astray doth so to his own loss: No bearer of burdens can bear the burden of another: nor would We visit with Our Wrath until We had sent an apostle (to give warning).

18:49 And the Book (of Deeds) will be placed (before you); and thou wilt see the sinful in great terror because of what is (recorded) therein; they will say, "Ah! woe to us! what a Book is this! It leaves out nothing small or great, but takes account thereof!" They will find all that they did, placed before them: And not one will thy Lord treat with injustice.

Time running out will be defined chiefly by my death. Not much will happen after that. I'm certainly not going to begin to believe in fairy tales because someday I will die.

You are right on two points:

#1 - we are all going to die.
#2 - we don't know what happens when we die.

You are only guessing, however, on the last point:

#3 - someone is going to judge us.

How do you feel about the truth that 99% of the New Testament represents a dramatic changing of Jesus' original message?
