There are several factors that would determine the "waiting time" for an adoption. A private adoption will differ from that of an agency adoption, and both will differ from the length of time for a foster/adopt program.

Typically, I believe we were told that it would take 1-2 years to bring a child home. However, we were fortunate in that it only took us five months until we brought a child home through an agency adoption. It then took us a year to have the adoption finalized, but the child was with us through that entire process.

Adoption is a long emotional journey, full of ups & downs, but it is worth everything you go through to bring your child home!

Hope that helps. Good luck to you.

It depends on what kind of adoption you do
Look into open and private adoption
Open adoption, you are put in a book, and birth mom look at the book, and pick the people she wants to interview
It took my brother almost three years. He got pick once, and the mother kept. He got pick again, five months after they told the Agency they wanted to try again
Good luck
