It is easier to get the terravision bus.
You book it on easy jet and it picks u up from outside the airport and drops u off at the termini station
Its abt 8 euros each return

Last time I did it the journey was about an hour on the so-called 1st class express from the airport. It wasn't very comfortable and trundled through the countryside at such a leisurely pace we had the opportunity to enjoy the view of every blade of grass.
When you get to Rome it stops at a remote bay platform that is so far from the Termini station concourse you feel that you've walked half the distance anyway.
Can't remember the fare, but it wasn't cheap by European standards (cheap compared to English fares though).
While you're surfing the net for Italian Railways you should also consider looking up the airport coach details.
