I am an American and have lived in Austria for 17 years now and I do not think that the Europeans hate Americans in general. Sure, there are leftist that hate capitalism and Bush. A factor that does not help the view of Americans are the hordes of American tourist who do not have a clue about the country they are in (language spoken etc.).
I have never had a problem. Hell I even helped coach the American Football team here in town. Each country has there own culture and everyone finds things that bothers them in another county.

Oh, come on mate! there are a number of international locations in Europe and much extra people. all of us are individualistic. individually talking : i do no longer hate the two. besides the shown fact that i'm extreme of conflict based economies and anti-environmental friendly international locations and places the place torture is permitted. between different issues. If the u . s . a ., Mexico, Russia, Morocco, Spain, Ghana, New Zealand or despite different place has any of the above or worse, i'm going to and have spoken out against it. If that's what you call being 'hateful' perhaps you ought to pop open your dictionary as quickly as in awhile, eh?

Europeans in general tend to think of a typical American as conceited, arrogant and just plain ignorant. Not entirely their fault, given what they are taught at school. Usually American tourists display little or no appreciation or compliance for another countries laws and customs, which just annoys Europeans. I think hate is a strong word, but annoy would be about right. It would also help if Americans would stop killing their allies in combat situations.

A lot of Europeans hate Americans. Americans are indifferent about other countries. Have you noticed how the world bashes on American and we just kind of sit back and shrug our shoulders and say "ok, so."

Actually, most of Europe think Americans are pretty dumb, with a few exceptions, and have done so for a long time.
