It is very improtant to show respect and reverence toward God at all times but especially on Sunday. In a world full evil temptations I was just wondering what you guys and gals do to keep Sunday holy.

Well, really, there is nothing in the Bible that requires us to keep Sunday 'holy'. Truth is that the Old Testament Law required the Jews to keep the sabbath holy, but that was Saturday; which is why the 7th Day Adventists gather on that day. Jesus, by fulfilling the Law and making Himself available to all at any time, made everyday the Sabbath for each of us. Every day we are privileged to Come before the throne of God and worship and fellowship with Him.

When Jesus died on the cross the veil of the tabernacle was torn in two by God. This was no easy task, being like a foot thick, or a simple gesture. Until that time we needed a priest to represent us before God and that veil was the separator that kept us unholy creatures from contaminating the Holy of Holies. By Jesus paying the price for our sins God doesn't see our sins because they are covered by the blood of Christ. We now have direct access to the Holy of Holies and presence of God.

Now, the apostles still saw the need for the church to gather together. It was for our benifit, not an obligation owed to God like before. And, since the Jews were still using the synagogs on Saturday, the Christians would gather on Sundays, at least in the areas that wern't killing them.

Read the book of Acts. Corinthians is very eye opening as well.

We still need to gather with our brothers and sisters in the Lord, but not out of an obligation to keep a certain day holy.

I don't.
As there is no god out there, sunday (after the sun god) is just a break from the working week, save that I am now retired, so sunday is just like every other day.
It may be important for YOU to do things that you believe would impress your fake god and that's your own business and nobody else's.
Primarily, I look forward to some 'evil temptations', like lounging about and watching TV, perhaps even ogling young girls, having a beer, day-dreaming ... anything but offering any subservience at all to a fictitious idol. Would be really dumb of me to do so.

i'm a christian. i know some stuff, but i don't know everything. here's wat i kno: when i go to church on sundays, i go and praise GOD. the way i keep sunday holy is by respecting the service(not making fun of the pastor's message), not going around doing the things HE doesn't want me to, and by just doing what HE wants me to. i don't lie, steal, or do any of those things. as a matter of fact, sunday is just like any other day!!! u should praise GOD every day. HE's there all the time. so altogether, you don't have to keep sunday holy. just do GOD's will in your life!!!

The sabbath is not Sunday. It is one day of the week that you don't work. You show reverance to God by not working. The sabbath was made for man, not man for the sabbath. If you didn't take a day off work each week, you would burn out. God knows what we need and his laws are for our benefit.

Sabbaths are held many times in this u . s . on the two Sunday or Saturday. Ever ask your self the place they have been given the names for those 2 days? It comes from historic religions and ideology. solar-day = worship of the solar. Religions have been continuously consistent with guy's certainty. because of the fact the solar gave easy, heat temperature, nutrition, and each little thing on earth desires it to outlive, this replaced into historic human beings's ultimate information of a real God. Even todays horoscope/zodiac calendar revolved around the solar. (The zodiac is properly in basic terms a education map/calendar, not a concept sytem. thoughts and pictures have been given to communities of stars so travellers ought to steer their way. they have additionally mapped out the winter solstice and spring equinox to maintain track of the seasons. between Dec22 and Dec 25 is the arrival of the winter solstice, the comparable day we rejoice Christmas.) The Catholic faith nevertheless makes use of many solar symbols. The Pope placed on's historic solar symbols on his clothing, you will come across it on his altar, interior the Vatican, and for the blessing of the Eucharist...that is held interior a colourful Gold solar. Satur-day = Saturn's Day. The worship of the God Saturn. purely analyze it slightly. that is incredibly interesting to work out how incredibly much all ideals are recycled with the aid of the a while.

When you go to church on Sunday to worship Him, make sure your heart is right with God. If you think it's not in the right place, pray and ask God to set your heart in its place and ask for the Holy Spirit for guidance.

Whatever it is you're thinking, whatever it is that's bothering you..leave it at the door. Better yet, leave it at His feet. He'll take care of it for you.

According to Scripture AND ancient Church History; the proper sabbath is Saturday.
Study your religions' history & you'll discover how the early church "fathers" changed everything at the Council of Nicea.

Why should Sunday be different? Every day should be holy when we walk in the Spirit (Romans 8).
