well its normaly made of wood with a lock on it. ypu can tutch or hold the decanter but you can't remove it or the lid. its starting to get on my nerves. can any one tell me what its called?

It is called a tantalus.

It is named after a Greek mythological character who was punished for his sins by being stood in a pool of water which flowed away every time he bent down to drink. So he could see the drink but not drink it, just like the decanter case.

yeah it is that what every one said so I'm not going to repeat it ,but it might be worth some money keep it in good nick an who knows we might get to see it on the road show .
