Not enough pressure. Thats why nearly half the poulation is now either born out of wedlock or from a broken home.
A sad time for traditional family values.

Somewhat of both, I think. It seems like there is more pressure on the youth to be in a relationship and at the same time there is less pressure on the older folks.

The pressure is much less.. Hell the average marriage last for 3 years if that. Really sex is everywhere and young ladies are not respecting themselves as well as young men. Sex is just so easy to get why be in a relationship.

The media would have us believe we aren't fulfilled unless we have found "true love" and that we are evil ogres if we don't have big, happy family get-togethers on specific dates.
Fortunately, most people are able to resist the hallmark commercial brainwashing.

I don't really think that this society has a huge impact when it comes to that...Meaning I don't think they really push one way or the other,..It depends on what kinda of neighborhood you are in and what you watch and listen to...it just depends on who you are and how easliy you are influenced...

You're absolutely right. There is what I call a "couplehood machine" out there that tells people that they will not be truly happy until they are married or in a relationship. Hardly anyone knows how great it is to be single and independent. I'm planning to write a book about this issue someday. Wanna join me?
