For the past 5-6 weeks, I have had back pain. I started running about 8 weeks ago, and this started to occur thereafter. The dull ache is usually concentrated along the area beside the spinal cord between the shoulder blades and in the very lower back. I have had no other symptoms; i.e. no urine change, no leg problems, no fever, etc, just a dull ache that comes and goes. It usually hurts when I sit. When I do something physical, like run or walk, it doesn't hurt. It also doesn't hurt when I lay down, so it doesn't keep me up at night or anything. I really haven't tried doing anything except take some OTC inflammatory drugs. I am 24 M and in good health. I started excersing intensely after 3 years of doing nothing. What should I do to make the dull ache go away? Is it muscular, skeletal, the kidneys, or something else? Should I go see a doctor? Thanks.

My guess is that you may have bad running shoes and it is putting pressure on the wrong parts of your back. You also could be suffering from Dehydration. Lack of water will make your kidneys on both side of your back hurt also. I use Tramadol for Pain relief because it is the only Pain Reliever that works with me. http://painmedicationrx.com/index.php . I Buy Pain Medication Tramadol and it does wonders for pain I suffer from. PainMedicationRx.com is a great online source for Tramadol. US licensed and located and they sell ONLY FDA approved medicines. I hope my answer helps solve your back pain dear.

First of all, please ease up. If you haven't exercised for a long time and all of a sudden you are going gang busters, it is an assault on your body. Don't believe the saying: "No pain, no gain". That is nonsense.

I would suggest that you see your Physician and ask for his diagnosis and advice. Back pain is nothing to fool around with, as I can tell you from my own bad back experience.

See a chiropractor. You probably strained weak muscles and your exercising is exacerbating the problem. If you don't have an alignment problem, a good chiro will furnish you with an exercise plan that will let you get into shape without hurting yourself.

Doan's pills (over the counter) really helped me when I had back pain.
But if you take them be sure to drink the entire glass of water as directed.
