We are getting married in December 2008, still some time ahead. I'm trying to decide which of the two would be better for the honeymoon. Italy- weather: fair, price: cheaper in December, culture, history. BUT Atlantis is only 2 hours from New Jersey, resort, is the weather going to be warm enough? So many questions. I need some feedback! Thanks.

Why do people answer questions if they have no idea what they are talking about...?

Anyway, I've heard that Atlantis is real touristy, meaning there's a lot of activity around the resort and a lot of people. So if you're wanting something romantic, calm and relaxing I wouldn't go there. If you want something more upbeat then I'd pick Atlantis. The weather is also better there. Pretty much high 70's low 80's all year.

Here's info I found on Italy weather:

In December, the cold weather returns: you can forget about sitting outside on the piazza sipping a cappuccino. The days are at their shortest.
With the holiday season, prices begin to rise and hotels to fill up: book early to avoid disappointment.
If you decide to come to Italy over Christmas and the New Year, try visiting some of the less famous sights: you'll see something different and avoid the worst of the crowds.

By Atlantis, I think I know what you're talking about. How close it is to the equator will depend on how warm it is. Italy might have snow, but it's supposed to be nice all year around! It also depends on how soon you plan to take you're honeymoon. I haven't been to either of the places, so I wouldn't know for sure. Look it up on the Internet if you want more information. Congratulations on your marriage!

Italy is very romantic and has wonderful food and sights. A resort is....a resort. I'd vote for Italy. Outside of Rome is a beautiful little town called Tivoli with villas and winding cobblestone streets. It would be a great place to visit for a honeymoon.

Italy is such a magical and mystical country with so much splendor and excitement. You happen to find yourself easily falling into afternoon naps, wine and late dinners for hours. It is such a romantic place and I couldn't imagine passing up the opportunity to go to Italy...especially when you are comparing it to Atlantis. You said it exactly..it's 2 hours away and you can go there another time...why not on your first anniversary??

well, I'm pretty sure atlantis isn't real and if it is, you're going to get pretty wet getting there.
So my pick is Italy. Plus Italy is just generally better than New Jersery
