If the chicken breast has lots of marinade still on top of them, is it safe to eat it? I guess what I'm asking is if the chicken is done, then is it safe to eat whatever marinade is still stuck on or around the chicken breast in the pan that you cooked them in? At what oven temp does the bacteria die? If the chicken is done, can I assume the marinade that was cooked with the chicken is edible too?

Chicken is cooked when the internal temperature is at least 165F.

The bacteria die around 145 to 155F but the government recommends cooking to at least 165F to be on the safe side.

Oven temperatures - Anything over 200F you should be okay. Typcially, when you cook chicken breast you're baking anywhere from 325 to 375F. At that temperature, any bacteria on the surface of the chicken will be killed. Then with time, the chicken will start cooking and the internal temperature will rise, minimum is 165F, until cooked.

In regards to the marinade, if that's the marinade that's left on the top when you started cooking then you are OKAY.

If you took the cooked chicken and brushed it/dunked it in the marinade, then that is bad. That's called cross-contamination where you take the cooked food and place it where the raw food once sat.

Yes, you can eat the marinade that's stuck around the chicken. If the chicken is cooked, then you can be assured your marinade is at a high enough temperature. Instead of baking the chicken, do you have a grill? Grilling marinated chicken is great because you get those grill marks on it that is so yummy.

Yep, it's safe to eat. If you use some wine, water or chicken broth to deglaze the pan, you can serve the remaining cooking liquid over the chicken. Yum.
