how can i get my hair to have body without spending a lot of money?

i have short hair, about to my chin, i like it straight, but poofy at the top. how do i make it poofy?

you can tease it, thats what i used to do. you can use a blow dryer or not. but use your finger or a comb and you just take a part of your hair that you want volumized and hold it up with one hand, and run your finger or comb up and down the part of hair your other hand is holding. i did it so much, my hair is naturally volumized now.
