Explain why the following stement is false: Acid rain is any rain that has a pH less than 7.

Pure water is 7.0, but normal precipitation is about pH 5.6 because water in the air combines with carbon dioxide to make carbonic acid.

Acid rain is more like 5.1 and below.

All rain is acid rain. The issue is how acidic is it.
