That's the problem with a "diet." Once it's over and you go back to unhealthy eating, you will gain the weight back.

The only way to lose weight and keep it off is to make lifestyle changes. Countinue to count your calories after you lose weight, monitor your portions, and exercise and you won't gain it back. But if you go back to a sedentary lifestyle and eat whatever you want whenever you want, you will gain it back.

Find a way of eating and exercising that works for you and you will stick to, instead of a diet.

Knowledge is power. Make sure your read as much as you can about different weight loss diets & techniques. Many people just jump into a diet without planning. They don't see result so the just give up. Don't forget, motivation is the key and you have to constently maintain your new weight with regular exercise and proper diet choices.

it takes a good 2-3 weeks just for the metabolism to shift into fat burning mode. the first week of a weight reduction diet is almost all water weight from the reduction of the carbohydrate intake. the 2nd week the amount of "weight" lost on the scale is significantly less as glycogen stores are depleted in the body and most of the excess water has been released. true fat loss isn't seen until week 3 or 4.
