full of misinformation and wildly absurd.

That they want me to find Jesus - and that I need to read the tract as soon as possible since my eternal life hangs in the balance.

The sad thing was, I got these even when I was still a Christian. I don't look abnormal, I wore a cross, I was active in my church, I wasn't dressed in basically nothing. But I guess since I was young it was assumed I really wasn't a Christian.

I used to talk back to these people - I used to try to explain about why I left Christianity. I tried to have a conversation. But it didn't really work. Instead all I got was a handful of bible verses and deaf ears.

My husband is a Christian biker who works for a motorcycle ministry. He looks like a biker, but for his colors he has the Christian flag. He's not someone who goes around preaching, but carries tracts (good ones, not those Chick things) for people who want more information. He cannot count the times well meaning 'Christians' have come up to him, judging him by his clothes and giving him tracts - telling him how his soul was going to hell unless he repents right now.

Nice, huh?

---WE SAY, hello , nice day today isn't it? We wait for a reply and try to be curtious and try to hand them the tract if they want it and I proceed to say this information is about the hope the Bible gives of the promise of paradise conditions on earth.
--This was promised by Jesus Christ when recommended the prayer, you probably know as the Lord's prayer where in part we as ".....thy kingdom come thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven...."

--THEN I SAY what do you think of that promise, was Christ really telling the truth and how do we know he did or did not?

...AND I let the person comment if they want and try to give an answer from the Bible--AS JEHOVAH'S WITNESSES do similarly all over the world in over 230 lands etc.

--IF THEY do not want to talk about it I usually will try to end the conversation and go on. My presentation is diff. with each person!

By whom?

I know Jehovah's Witnesses are inviting everyone to their memorial that is held on April 2. This is done in memory of Jesus death that he commanded us to do in remembrance of him at Luke 22:19.

Usually, when someone just comes up on the street and gives me one, they just hand it to me, say God bless, and that's about it. I accept it in the spirit it is given.

When the Jehovah's Witnesses come to my door, I will usually offer them a copy of the Book of Mormon and tell them I will read theirs if they will read mine.

Don't usually take me up on that one!

hehehe! i used to collect those things. i had hundreds of them, all different, all the same.

i especially liked the pulpy cartoon ones in which there's always 2 main characters who face the same moral dilemma but chose different paths. one ends up climbing the stairway to heaven to be greeted by Jesus and a flock of insipid angels and the other ends up sitting in a fiery pit surrounded by leering pitch fork wielding demons. "oh if only I had listened to that helpful Christian!" wails the damned reefer smoking or sexual active or shoplifting teen.

as for the Christian handing me the tract usually a few logical questions would cause them to need to walk away to hand a tract to someone else.

They just say, God bless as they hand me one and keep walking to hand the next one to the next person.

Yes and I say I am Catholic and getting a Masters degree in Theology and that I would love to have a real discussion about theology.....

At that point they usually run in the other direction.....it is hard to have an indepth discussion when your theology comes from a tract.

I've picked up tracts that someone left in a movie theater, and one more in a phone booth. I keep them around for a good hearty laugh.
