My reading of the Bible doesn't give me any of the specifics of the mechanism of creation, which at best evolution does, the Bible simply says "In the beginning God...", no how given.

The only exception is in the creation of humanity where it says that God used clay which is essentially wet dirt, which we are if you render us into our components, once again no how given.

My Christian problem with evolution as a possible explanation of "how" is that the theory is too inefficient, why so much time, and has a tendency to lead people away from God not to Him.

From my view as a mechanical engineer evolution looks to be at best "reverse engineering" and is therefore invalid as it relies on inductive reasoning. Too much of it relies on what we know now and speculation of what things were like in the past. Viruses adapting to vaccines is not proof of particle to person evolution.

Once again, how does evolution contradict the Bible, as the Bible gives no specifics on the "how" of creation.

Mcd, you assume that "reverse engineering" some new variant of current tech to be the same as doing that to something that is so complex and ancient as life itself. Also, reverse engineering is a trial and error process, it requires a great deal of "well I postulate" and "maybe this is what it is".

We aren't even positive what the ecosphere looked like 200 years ago much less what it looked like billions of years ago, its all a guess.

Many christian denominations accept evolution as the mechanism god used for creation. However, evolution contradicts the bible in that it took more than one day for evolution to create all the creatures that inhabit the Earth.

Christians who accept evolution would say that Genesis is a figurative account of creation and that the key is that god was responsible, not how god went about his work. Fundamentalists would say that six days means six days and everything happened in 4004 BC.

You are totally right about the Bible says 'In the beginning God' but to answer your question of how you just needed to read one more word...SAID. God SAID let there be light and there was light and God SAID let there be dry land and there was dry land and so on. God spoke those things into being however, for humans He made us in His image out of the dust of the earth...that is what makes humans like no other and the evolutionary theory is daily being disproved. It's just that people have been told a lie for so long that now they believe it. There is world wide proof of a world wide flood and there is proof that we are NOT getting bigger and smarter but just the contrary, smaller and DUMBER. Get some great info about the Bible and creation form Dr. Dino. He videos are AWESOME and SOOOOO common sense that it makes evolution look just plain dumb.

"essentially wet dirt, which we are if you render us into our components". Complete rubbish.

"My Christian problem with evolution as a possible explanation of "how" is that the theory is too inefficient, why so much time, and has a tendency to lead people away from God not to Him." Translation. It's a bit difficult to understand, so I won't bother. I like simple answers.

"evolution looks to be at best "reverse engineering"" But going forward in time?

The bible gives no specifics on anything.

Kno. creation is bogus. no longer something is created everywhere each time : directly. the international in 7 daze is incredibly : directly. timber take years to advance up. each little thing around us shows the way it comes in2 creation or existence. people who penned Genesis did so 4 billion years after the actuality - they weren't eyewitnesses. Adam & Eve have been God's very own tremendously stepped forward people who have been transmitted right here to tutor the close by cutting-edge tribes the paintings of Survival. Natives who witnessed this 'journey ' made checklist of it yet people who wrote the Bibull had different extremely some controlling themes in concepts with regard to the plenty.

Why so much time? Why not more? Evolution isn't on a time scale, it's not in a hurry to produce intelligent life or something - it doesn't have a goal in mind.

Science can't really start from the beginning and predict everything from there - you learn by seeing what has already happened. There is overwhelming evidence for evolution and common descent, if you're willing to pick up a few books.

it's not micro-evolution I have a problem with. So an owl mutated and formed a different kind of owl and selective breeding took it from there. no contradiction.

but evolution contradicts creationsim in saying:

1) evolution states man formed from the common ancestor between the great apes. The account of genesis says God "formed man out of the dust of the earth", not "shaped man out of ape". Do you really think a person even back then couldn't understand "changed ape to man"?

2) "every living thing after its own kind". evolution is basically either saying: a) we're all of the same kind OR b) animals don't produce after their own kind.

so micro doesn't contradict, macro does.

The basic difference is that evolutionists believe everything evolved from an earlier form. Creationists believe that everything was created, just as it is.
The problem with both of those theories is that the evolutionists have never explained where that original life form came from, the one that everthing evolved from.
The problem with the creationist point of view is that there is direct and dramatic evidence of evolution, which negates that theory.
My little brain isn't capable of figuring it out.

Because the Bible says God spoke and it was. He can simply speak something into existence which therefore contradicts evolution.

If you "define" creation in a content-free way, then it doesn't contradict anything, and is also thereby totally vacuous. (Check out my new "came about" theory" of life- life came about! Voila!)

I'm glad to see you reject reverse engineering. So I guess a job with CIA Foreign Technology Division is out of the question for you.

Evolution only contradicts a literal Biblical reading...Unfortunately some people don't understand parts of the Bible are poetry....

I recommend reading up on evolution.
