No it is either one side or the other! using monkeys would offend the creationists! while putting monkeys would just make the evolutionists mad becuase they would think monkeys were some where else during that time... So just relax and save some drama by choosing a side....

If you made the play about 50 million years long, yes. Then everyone would be an "evolutionist" after seeing the monkeys evolve.

The wouldn't evolve into humans, of course, they'd evolve into actors. So I guess it would be more like devolving.
