Metobalism is based more on what your physical exertion is, but there is research that eating spicy foods is a booster. Just remember to keep your metabolism working all day by eating small meals, so you don't spike, then go into a craving for chocolate. Eat small, healthy meals/snacks and workout!

Foods are only a temporary increase - exercise or cardio workouts will raise your bodies metabolism for a much longer time than any food.
