No one wants to experience any of that, so if you don't want to get in you don't have to. Personally, I don't involve myself with that, but I do basic training to help me just incase. Anyways, I dont believe in it and never will.
Thanks for your time.

I guess if you study a hard style martial art, you are ready to take the risk of injury. Martial arts are generally a full contact activity. People assume the chance of being injured when they begin studying a martial art. It's just part of the territory.
Almost like accepting the risk of being in a wreck when you decide to start driving. Or accepting the risk of being run over by a car when you decide to cross the street.
Major injuries in the martial arts are few and far between. The more common ones are soft tissue injuries. Ones that take a few days to heal. A good partner will take care of you and still push you to your limits. And you do the same for them. It's all a part of learning.
Some people don't want to assume the risk so they study soft styles of martial arts. Like Tai Chi. Everybody has their own preferences. And with their certain prefence comes a certain degree of risk. It's just up to you as to what degree of risk you want to take.

I have broken bones in MMA events. maybe 2 in the 7 years I have trained.... thats not a lot compared to how many fights i have taken. Its just part of it.... and to be perfectly honest, injury doesn't happen all that much if you keep your head about you. The only times I have been hurt was when instead of tapping out, I thought I could work my way out and through it, finding out the opposite. but you learn from those things and you keep learning. fighting brings a certain element of pain with it... you can't hide from it.

There hasn't been a death in a UFC fight... but there has been death and/or paralysis in football and baseball. Plus plenty of broken bones in all sports, so I guess you'll need to stay out of every sport then since there is a risk.

You can't let fear run your life.
I've had eleven broken bones, numerous sprains and strains, concussions, cuts and bruises. I've had six sports related orthopedic surgeries.
Was it worth it? Every bit.
Would I do it all over again? Yes and I would do even more than I did.
MMA wasn't around when I fought. If it was, I would have competed in it.
Taking risks is what life is all about. If you're not willing to take a risk, my friend, you're not living, just living in fear.

It's no different in other sports like rugby, hockey, and football. People enjoy sports too much to worry about it. Statistically speaking, it's less likely that you get a debilitating(sp?) injury in MMA than in the other sports I mentioned.

of course, no one wants to break a bone and certainly don't want to face a near death injury, and especially not death.
